Knowing is different from doing.

Pilates Encyclopedia teaches the principles.
The Teaching Lab helps you apply them.

You can understand anatomy, memorize exercise progressions, and complete continuing education courses, yet still find yourself wondering:

👉🏻 Did I choose the right exercise?
👉🏻 How should I modify this movement?
👉🏻 What do I do when a client can't perform the exercise I planned?
👉🏻 How can I accommodate different needs in the same class?
👉🏻 Am I helping this client as effectively as I could?

If you've ever second-guessed a teaching decision, you're not alone.

Teaching Pilates requires more than knowledge. It requires observation, judgement, adaptation, and problem-solving in real time.

“Mara’s laidback demeanor is a breath of fresh air. I really enjoy the opportunity to improve my game with such a lovely coach."

~ Elizabeth

What is the Teaching Lab?

The Teaching Lab is a Pilates coaching experience for Pilates teachers who want to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Rather than learning more information, you'll learn how to apply what you already know.

Together, we'll work through real teaching situations, discuss client cases, troubleshoot challenges, explore options, and develop practical solutions you can use immediately in your classes and sessions.

Bring your questions.

Bring your client cases.

Bring the situations that keep you second-guessing yourself.

Together, we'll work through them.

Hey, I'm Mara

I’m the creator of Pilates Encyclopedia, nationally certified Pilates teacher (NCPT) and former studio owner. After answering thousands of questions from Pilates teachers over the years, I've noticed a pattern. Most teachers don't need more information. They need help applying what they already know.

“Mara has definitely shortened the learning curve for me. Between the videos and detailed exercise analysis, I feel confident teaching the exercises that I plan for a class.”

~ Tina Stobo

"Diving into the movement skills and phases of movement has given me a better understanding and a pathway to analyzing and adapting exercises to my client's ability, thus making the exercise achievable for them."

Priscilla Osterhouse

"Truly it's just nice to know that I have a expert resource to reach out to for questions and ideas. Knowing that's in my "back pocket" boosted my confidence when addressing clients with specific needs."

~ Stephanie
